I’m Frankie, I currently volunteer for the Barrow Voice magazine and I am the minutes secretary for Barrow-Upon-Soar Community Association (BUSCA). I moved to the village in 2022. At first, due to health conditions, I was forced to remain indoors, but since my health has started to improve, I now help BUSCA run some awesome events for the whole village. I love living in Barrow Upon Soar, have met some amazing people and learnt so much about the history of our village, which has been fascinating.

My daughter (Izzy) and I have always been crafty, so we decided to set up a small business together. Mother Daughter Designs is the name of our company producing gifts, candles and other little treasures. Everything is hand-made and fllled with our passion. We love creating things that bring people joy. We also produce a journal designed for people struggling with a chronic health condition. I found that keeping a journal really helped me notice patterns and made a huge difference when speaking to doctors as I had all the information in front of me. Izzy designed a journal for teenage girls to help with schoolwork and self-care. We print our journals ourselves so these can be personalised to your wants or needs.

We can personalise all our items and we can have items ready within two days (depending on stock) if you’re looking for a more individualised piece. I can deliver your products, or you can collect them from the Poppyfelds estate. We have also signed up to be a vendor at the Hall Orchard Primary School Fete being organised by the school’s PTFA.
