It’s coming to the end of another year. We’ve had a new business opening up in the village (Interiors by Sarah) and more anniversaries of village groups (Barrow Runners); Barrow continues to thrive on its volunteers who work tirelessly for us and our environment. The Scarecrow Festival (organised by BUSCA) was a great success with some brilliant scarecrows around the village; the village show had some marvellous entries and Barrow Arts Theatre (part of BUSCA) enjoyed another success (Shrek: the musical) at the theatre in Mountsorrel Memorial Centre.
On behalf of the Barrow Voice editorial team, I would like to wish you a merry Christmas and all good wishes for 2026.

Barrow Community Library, Barrow Arts Theatre Society (BATS), Barrow Voice, Barrow upon Soar Twinning Group, Barrow upon Soar Heritage Group, as well as our website and social media teams, and our events team who organise our Scarecrow Festival and many other events that take place throughout the year, are all part of Barrow upon Soar Community Association (BUSCA) - Working in a common effort, without prejudice or distinction, to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the condition of life for our community.
