Thumbs up for 2012!

his year we have built on the successes of 2010 and have moved to a full colour publication. We have had some stunning front covers and some great pictures inside too. Your reaction has been a big 'thumbs up', so we aim to maintain the standard and even improve it further in 2012.

Looking back over the year we have been happy to celebrate successes and none more so than the first village Youth Achievement Awards featured on page 5. We have had lots of other good news stories about young people - in sports, drama and entertainment, travelling, helping others and widening their horizons. When there is so much negative press about the younger generation, it is particularly good to be able to showcase their achievements. If you have a tale to tell, please do get in touch.

As well as all the other traditional things at this time of year, it is an opportunity to thank everyone who has committed their time and energy to Barrow Voice over the past 12 months - from the editorial team, the distributors, the advertisers, the design team - a heartfelt thank you to you all.

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.

Frances Thompson
