Barrow’s Got Talent!
Barrow Youth Theatre is planning another night of
cracking entertainment on Saturday June 19th with
Barrow’s Got Talent. All proceeds will go to the
Barrow Holy Trinity Church extension. A great worthwhile
venture that will be fantastic for the community.
This one night only extravaganza will be hosted by BYT’s talented young cast where they will perform a few musical numbers from recent and new youth theatre productions. The Youth Theatre will introduce talented Barrow/Charnwood performers to give them the opportunity to show their talents.
All we need now are variety acts to compete. We would like YOU to get in touch and would ask singers, dancers, musicians, jugglers, comedians, magicians, acrobats or any specialist act, of all ages to contact us.
Please phone Gordon or Carol Kenneth on 01509 620572 to book your place on the stage. Tickets for this event will be on sale at The Paper Shop nearer the time.

Centre Stage brings ‘Those Magnificent Men’ to Barrow

We are delighted that the New Perspectives
Theatre (who bought us The Hired Man last
year) are back in Barrow with a new comic
masterpiece, “Those Magnificent Men”. It’s the
hilarious, heart-stopping story of Alcock and Brown as
they make their bid to achieve the first ever non-stop
transatlantic flight.
By any standards, it’s a classic tale of plucky British pioneers - Captain John Alcock, dashing World War 1 fighter pilot and Lieutenant Arthur Whittam Brown, navigational genius with a gammy leg, huddled together against the elements in the tiny cockpit of their converted Vickers Vimy biplane, made almost entirely of wood and canvass - talk about winging it!
Now critically-acclaimed comedy-writing duo, Brian Mitchell and Joseph Nixon, have turned the story of the race to conquer the skies over the Atlantic into a fast and furious comic tour-de-force.
Thrill to the sheer adventuring spirit of our unlikely heroes, marvel at their daredevil aerial antics and wonder at how the whole bally thing is told with just two actors and a crate full of funny props.
The show will be on Sunday April 25th starting at 7.00pm in Humphrey Perkins Community Centre.
Tickets will be available at the Paper Shop at £7.00 (£8.00 on the door) and £6.00 (concessions) (£7.00 on the door). It’s a family-friendly show (suitable from 14+) so you can also buy a family ticket for £24.00.
